S’aprova al Congrès el Cànon Digital

Finalment s’ha aprovat el cànon digital davant la pressió exercida pels grans artistes de la indústria cultural, aprofitant les imminents eleccions a l’Estat Espanyol.

CDsL’esmena número 39 del projecte de Llei d’Impuls de la Societat de la Informació que considerava injust i discriminador el cànon, que grava tots els aparells i sistemes d’emmagatzematge, reproducció o enregistrament digitals, i proposava d’eliminar-lo en el termini d’un any, ha estat rebutjada al Congrés dels Diputats amb els vots del PSOE, CiU, Izquierda Unida i la Chunta Aragonesista. Així doncs, només ICV i el PP han votat en favor de l’esmena mentre que ERC, el BNG i el PNB s’han abstingut.

El redactat de l’esmena 39 era el següent:

“«En el plazo de un año se presente un proyecto de Ley en el que se modifique el artículo 25 del Texto Refundido de la Ley de Propiedad Intelectual, aprobado por el Real Decreto Legislativo 1/1996, de 12 de abril, eliminando el llamado Canon Digital y proponiendo alternativas consensuadas con el sector para la salvaguarda de los derechos de autor y de la Propiedad Intelectual.»
